An incredible Southern Aymara khipi urku traditional woman's dress. Tis all-alpaca wool masterpiece is from the Salar de Uyuni Saltbed in Provincia Salinas de Garci Mendoza in southern Oruro. This incredible weaving weighs nearly 9 pounds and measures 84" X 54" as a folded tube; opened up, it is 14 feet long! This rare textile is finely woven with a few light worn spots and a minor amount of native repair. Early to mid-20th century. $900 SOLD

This is a beautiful jilakat awayu leader's cloth from Oruro dating to the turn of the 19th century. The textile is tightly woven of alpaca and llama wool and measures 49" X 42". It requires a little blocking to lay perfectly flat. $600
