KIOWA BEADED BELT DROP MID-19th CENTURY WS019 An extremely rare and early (1860-1875) southern plains early loom-beaded belt drop, of Kiowa or possibly Comanche origin. The beads are small pony bead size on homespun cotton cord. The strip is sewn to a period, thin commercial leather strap accented with a perforated tip. Venetian beads in translucent dark blue, translucent dark red, black and white. Only 3 rows of beads are damaged and an edge cording is broken in places. Very beautiful beadwork. 30 inches long; 1 & one-quarter inches wide. SOLD.

WS022 A magnificent, circa 1880, Northern Ute beaded pouch of dark, softly tanned buffalo hide. The front fully beaded with a fully beaded flap. The Venetian beads on the flap are tiny and those on the body are a little larger. Beads include Cheyenne blues, dull pink, dull green, pumpkin orange, cobalt blue and early-style, tiny, smooth brass beads. About 50 small tin cone tinklers. An exceptional pouch. RARE ARIZONA APACHE HORSE-STEALING POUCH LATE 19TH CENTURY WS123
This is a very rare Western Apache buckskin pouch from Arizona. The soft bag is beaded and painted with symbols relating to horse-stealing. There are four beaded horses, beaded morning stars (for celestial powers) and a painted horse hoof in vermillion paint. The horses are surrounded by typical Apache diagonal designs that are accented with a smart edging of beads. Bead colors include red white-hearts and cobalt blues; sinew stitched. 19th century Apache figural beadwork is extremely rare. 4 & three-quarters inches by 4 & one-quarter inches.SOLD
