WS002

LARGE CASAS GRANDES
CLASSIC OLLA
(A.D. 1030-1250)

Undeniably an extraordinary and magnificent example of the ceramic arts.  This thin-walled, perfectly balanced masterpiece was created nearly a thousand years ago from the southern American Southwest.  The linework and cultured design on the bright white slip are awe-inspiring.  This is an a-typical Ramos Polychrome (A.D. 1100-1250) jar.  The vessel is very large measuring  9 & one-half inches tall and a full 9 & one-half inches in diameter.  It is in superb condition with a couple of very short hairline cracks on the rim.  There is no restoration and this fine jar has not yet been professionally cleaned.           4800.00
